Fwd: Smart-TD Sick using LSP Code

As info the BLET does not have agreement for sick days. Do not use code LSP. If you are working as a switchmen or conductor you can use the code.

Subject: Smart-TD Sick using LSP Code

ALL GCA 150 Local Chairmen,

At 10 AM this morning you will begin seeing an option to layoff using paid sick leave. The code is LSP. This DOES NOT apply to Engineers on BNSF.  Do not use this code if you are an Engineer.

While the system may accept the request, due to ongoing system programming,  If you use the code you will take a deduction in points the same as an unpaid layoff.

Also, this code LSP does not apply to all Smart-TD Trainmen on the system, so warn our BLET members who are trainmen to make sure their Smart-TD counterparts belong to one of the Smart-TD committees that are signatories to a Smart sick-leave agreement.

BLET continues working toward a paid sick leave agreement. We will continue to negotiate on the issue and will hopefully reach an agreement soon.

Fraternally,

Kent
