Union meeting is tomorrow at Teamsters building on Andreson. We will vote on switching the extra board from voluntary to mandatory. The 40 hr rest for pool should start tomorrow also.

Pool rest

After doing the math with the GC on the miles the max time off we can get is 40 hrs. We can look at it to increase the time on six months. The GC said we won’t make miles if we go with 48. I am having them turn that on ASP. 

I still need more feed back on changing the extra bd to mandatory instead of voluntary. Please respond so I can get it changed if the majority wants the change.

Mandatory 6/3

I found out we can change the mandatory 6/3 recycle BD 30 before October. Please send me your feedback if you would like to do this. I am on vacation this week and will not have cell service. Reach out to Scott or Rod for immediate help.

Permanent Bid Guide and Implementation

All GCA 150 Local Chairmen,

 

Attached for distribution is a guide that shows you how to enter an Engineer’s permanent bid. There is also a REVISED TYE Options Guide concerning WFH toggle #2 concerning Assignment and FRA rest, which will be available once the Permanent Bids are turned on at your specific location. The Carrier intends to turn on Turn Removal at your location simultaneously when they implement the Engineer Permanent Bids at your location.

 

The latest schedule for when permanent bids will be implemented is April 2nd for the remainder of the PNW and April 9th for the Montana and Twin Cities Divisions. Those are the only upcoming Divisions we know of at this time.

 

All employees should now have access to enter a permanent bid if they want to get in there and test it out, however, until your location gets a broadcast notification of permanent bid implementation they will not be used, read, or acted upon.   

 

Also attached are 2 Rest Cycle Distribution Guides about 6/3 Rest Cycles only. If your 6/3 was turned on before March 15th, use the Letter Starts with A guide. If your 6/3 was implemented after March 16th, please use the Letter Starts with I guide. 

 

That’s what we have at this time. If things change or we get additional updates you will be notified.

Here is the info on the rest cycles. We will vote at the monthly meeting on Monday. The choices are 6-3 mandatory, 6-3 voluntary and mandatory rest between 36 and 48 hours. If we chose mandatory rest, we also have to choose time off.     
There is also a bid sheet for the week of 12-2. PLEASE read bid and sent bid to proper email. I have not been able to get any more week allocations for vacation. If any weeks become available i will put them up for bid.
If anyone has Matt Bennett’s new contact information, please txt it to me.

 We need to decide what rest we want to implement for the pool. We have the two 6-3 options or the mandatory rest option. With the mandatory rest option, you will get between 36-48 hours off. We get to decide the exact number of hours off. We will not get to choose multiple times like the triangle has. You will have the choice to raise your hand and go to work early if the vacancies call for it. When we choose a rest cycle, the pool will go to self-protecting. As with the extra BD you can vote by txt or email. 
 The pool also has turn swap available as of now. There is a list you can add yourself to if you are interested in doing it. The pdf is attached that explains the guidelines of turn swap.

Meeting/pool

At the union meeting on Monday 2/19, we will count up the votes for the voluntary or mandatory rest on extra boards. We will also look at what is a good fit for the pool. 6/3 or mandatory rest of between 39-44 hours. I can answer any questions you have about it. If I don’t know the answer I can call GC. Come to the meeting to discuss.
